Process - The stages
-
The Brief
We will have an initial conversation to understand your aspirations, answer questions and establish whether we both believe we can achieve the desired outcome for your garden.
-
Survey & Site Analysis
Ideally, we will need a topographical survey. There are work arounds if not, including a manual on-site survey by me, but this is the best way for me to read the site. This can either be completed by your choice of surveyor or we can instruct a surveyor on your behalf. I will also analyse the site to take it in and assess its strengths, weaknesses and benefits.
-
Outline Design / Schematic
I will develop an outline design of the site based on our initial meeting and brief which we can then discuss and adjust as necessary. I will endeavour to show you things you wont have thought of but also take on board your ideas. I’ll also provide you with a mood board with imagery to illustrate the possibilities.
-
Master Plan
Once we get to this stage, I will provide a fully scaled and detailed 2D plan for the whole area or garden. This will show all the features of the design including your house and other fixed features. This can be colour rendered.
-
3D Plan
It can help to recreate the master plan in 3D. This may help you to visualise your new garden and is done using various design software packages.
-
Planting Plan
I can design individual beds, areas or whole garden plans for planting. These will combine suitable plants for your location and aesthetics in the right quantities for the space.
The correct plant quantities and combinations can have stunning effects for your garden and are an essential element for a successful design
